The history of our company
ETV-ERŐTERV Co. is the fully qualified successor of the state-owned Power Plant and Network Engineering Company (ERŐTERV) founded in 1950.
ERŐTERV's career was closely connected to the history of the Hungarian energetic system after the Second World War. ERŐTERV has designed the power plants, transmission lines, substations, international connections and power plant control systems. Our experts have taken part in the technical and economical examinations supporting the decision-making as well as in the development of necessary methods and computer procedures. In the late fifties, an engineering institute suitable to the standards of the age was formed, that has helped more and more rising generations of experts to start their career, its organization has changed according to the changing requirements, its professionalism has extended and deepened continuously following the improvement of technologies.
The company's privatisation took place on 21st of December 1995 and the majority shareholder became the Finnish Imatran Voima International Ltd. (IVOIN). Later the name of IVOIN was changed to Fortum Ltd. In 2002, Fortum reshaped its strategy and decided to sell its shares in all Hungarian business. Concluding this, on 30th of January 2004 Fortum and the ETV-ERŐTERV Co. Management Group signed an agreement and the Management Group purchased the block of shares of the engineering company. The primary target of the Management Group, as the new owner of ERŐTERV is the long term operation of the company, maintaining the requirements of its clients and strengthening and developing the complex activity and the product structure of the company.
